What is Feather Edge Fencing?

Most people think the Feather Edge is different to Closeboard, without knowing why.

The image below shows how Feather Edge Fencing is constructed, and the materials required.

‘Feather Edge’ simply refers to the shape of the piece of wood. Closeboarding is the way the Feather Edge pieces overlap.

The lowest cost option is Closeboard PANELS, which are six feet long and the ‘Feathers’ are pre-assembled into the panel. If you require this option then click here for that page.

The second option, which this page addresses, is Continuous Closeboard Fencing, which is not done with panels, but instead individual pieces of wood are nailed to three horizontal wooden rails, and (usually) wooden fence posts are installed every three metres.
